About Robin - Founder & Lead Chaperone
Hi there— I’m Robin, and I’m here to make sure the "Best Man" doesn't spend your ceremony chasing a squirrel. If you’re anything like me, your dog isn’t just a pet, they’re family. And a family wedding doesn’t feel right if the guest of honor is home with a chew toy. But as anyone who’s tried to put a tuxedo on a golden retriever knows, weddings are stressful enough without adding “amateur dog wrangler” to your bridesmaid’s duties.
Years of experience, earned the hands-on way.
My “paw-fessional” résumé starts at Friendship Veterinary Hospital in Norfolk, where I worked alongside veterinarians and vet techs, learning to read canine body language, recognize stress before it escalates, and handle dogs safely in high stimulation environments. That’s the exact skill set your pup needs on the busiest day of your life. Through college, I managed the high-energy chaos of dog daycares a daily masterclass in group dynamics and knowing which pup needs a quiet break before they know it themselves. And for years since, rescue work has kept me in the kennel: fostering puppies for Richmond Animal Care and Control, then serving as kennel volunteer, digital media manager, and rescue coordinator for Furry Friends of the Panhandle. Rescue dogs taught me that trust is built one treat at a time and that patience is a professional skill.
Certified, insured, and prepared for anything.
Black Tie Tails is fully insured, and I’m Red Cross Certified in Canine First Aid and CPR, because your best friend’s safety deserves more than good intentions. Whether your pup is a seasoned socialite or a rescue who’s a little shy around crowds, I have the experience, the patience, and the high-value treats to keep them calm, cool, and collected. I proudly serve both of my home bases, Richmond and Hampton Roads, Virginia.
I can’t wait to help your best friend join you at the altar. Let’s get your pup to the party!
